ABRSM announces its autumn teacher events

This autumn ABRSM will be hosting a number of events in the UK to support music teachers.

ABRSM and Music Mark Roadshow

Building on the success of last year’s roadshow, ABRSM and Music Mark are joining forces again to deliver another series of events for music teachers. Each half-day event will feature two sessions exploring the common threads connecting two different musical learning contexts: the classroom and the one-to-one music lesson.  Using video footage as a basis for discussion, the sessions will focus particularly on ways in which well-chosen musical learning objectives can lead to effective learning outcomes.

Further information

The roadshows cost just £40 and take place in Berkshire on 16 October and Staffordshire on 20 October. More dates and venues will be announced later in the year. For more information or to book a place, visit www.abrsm.org/roadshow.

ABRSM conference

The 2015 ABRSM teacher conference will take place on 7 November at London’s Grange Tower Bridge Hotel. With a focus on the broad range of skills that support musical performance, the practical and thought-provoking sessions will give attendees lots of ideas to implement in class, group and one-to-one lessons. “I look forward to the ABRSM teacher conference every year,” said one delegate at last year’s conference. “The sessions at the event fill me with enthusiasm and re-energize my teaching.”  Presenters include educators Anthony Williams, Louise Matthew and Paul Harris in addition to ABRSM Chief Examiner, John Holmes. They will introduce delegates to inspiring resources and give interactive demonstrations to show how to use them effectively within their teaching.

Further information

Attendance at the event costs £80 per delegate, including refreshments and lunch. A full conference programme and booking facility can be found at www.abrsm.org/conference. For further information, please telephone us on +44 (0)8456 522 511 or email the ABRSM events team.
